The Hurst City Council authorized the city manager to proceed with phase 1 design services for an expansion of the city’s fleet warehouse and adopted a resolution endorsing a regional crime victim coordinator grant application.
Staff said the city has used its current fleet barn since 1983; recent apparatus purchases mean the facility will need expansion to properly house and maintain new equipment. Council authorized a phase 1 design agreement with Kim Davis for a not-to-exceed amount of $21,120.
Separately, staff explained a long-running regional victim-services arrangement that shares two crime victim coordinators among Hurst, Euless and Bedford. Staff said the coordinators help roughly 1,100 victims per year and requested council support for a grant application to the governor’s office to continue the program. The council adopted Resolution 18-99 supporting the application on a voice vote.
Council also handled routine items including Tarrant Appraisal District voting allocations and calendar scheduling for holiday closures and a household hazardous-waste event on Jan. 10, 2026.
