The council adopted the findings and order.
The council took up a second property, 1324 West Redbud Drive, which staff said had been vacant since a November 2023 fire. Staff made the same set of findings and recommended a 30-day window for repair or demolition, the authority for the city to demolish and place a lien, and the ability to assess civil penalties of up to $1,000 per day for continued violation. The council adopted the recommended order on voice vote.
Staff framed both items as public-health and safety actions; no owner representatives spoke on the record during either hearing. The orders allow the city to proceed with demolition work and to place special assessments on the properties to recover related costs if owners do not comply within the stated period.
