The Hurst City Council voted Feb. 24 to authorize the city manager to create a project and spend up to $40,000 to make code-driven repairs at a city-owned property at 121 West Pipeline Road in the Bellevue Addition.
City Manager (name not specified in the record) described the property acquisition as driven by right-of-way needs for a Popline Road widening project and said the city opted to acquire the entire parcel because the cost to buy only a narrow strip was high. He said the city plans to use rent proceeds from tenants to cover repairs for about six months while preparing the building for long-term leasing.
The council moved and approved an authorization for the city manager to proceed with creating a project for the Bellevue Addition property not to exceed $40,000. "I'll make a motion that we authorize the city manager to create a project for the Bellevue Addition property not to exceed $40,000," the councilmember said; the motion was seconded and carried on a voice vote.
