Planning staff told the Waxahachie Planning and Zoning Commission on July 29 that the department will present zoning text amendments at upcoming August and September meetings to implement changes required by recent state legislation.
"These text amendments are driven due to recent state legislation changes, so they're kind of mandatory changes that we make to the code," the staff member said, and added commissioners should expect the package to come as a single set of changes. Staff said the timing will be sometime in August and September.
The commission did not take action on the amendments at this meeting; staff framed the items as compliance updates that will be brought forward for formal consideration in the coming meetings.
