At its meeting, the Waxahachie City Council approved multiple routine and land-use items: the amended consent agenda; a Specific Use Permit (ZDC 1512025) allowing an accessory structure exceeding 700 square feet at 128 Lakeshore Drive; and a rezoning to a planned development to allow a six-unit townhome project west of 131 Mark Trail (ZDC 12025). The council also approved a development agreement related to the townhome project.
During the consent agenda the council noted amendments including appointments to the Cultural Arts and Heritage Commission and a postponement of certain minutes; a council member moved to approve the consent agenda and the motion carried.
For the accessory-structure request, planning staff advised the SUP was required because the lot would have more than two accessory structures; the Planning & Zoning Commission and staff recommended approval and council approved the SUP subject to the staff report’s conditions.
For ZDC 12025, staff described a six-unit townhome plan with unit sizes from roughly 590 to 1,300 square feet, additional on-site and on-street parking located on the property, and enhanced landscaping; the Planning & Zoning Commission and staff recommended approval and the council approved the rezoning and then approved the associated development agreement.
These approvals reflect standard zoning and procedural steps; required conditions and building inspections remain part of the permitting and implementation process.
