Sean provided a resident example to show the effect: the trash/recycling portion would move from $6.03 per month to $7.05 per month, an increase of roughly $0.82. Council members asked staff to clarify what the city’s water bill base includes; staff explained the $7.05 figure covers only garbage and recycling and is added to the water bill, while total household utility bills depend on water consumption and other fees.
