County approves IU clinical training agreement, park host and stadium contracts, lake maintenance and tower-clock maintenance

The commission approved a four-year agreement with Indiana University for Health Department clinical training, multiple Parks Board contractor agreements (park hosts, Dunn Stadium management, park inspectors and concession lease), a lake maintenance renewal and an annual maintenance contract for the courthouse tower clock.
On March 30 the Bartholomew County Commissioners approved a series of operational agreements recommended by department directors.
Health Department: Director Amanda Organist presented a four-year agreement with the Trustees of Indiana University (April 9, 2026–April 9, 2030) to allow IU healthcare students to complete clinical training at the county Health Department's Nursing Division; the agreement carries no cost to the county. The Health Department already maintains a similar agreement with Ivy Tech Community College.
Parks and Recreation: Parks Director Rich Day presented multiple Park Board agreements: a contractor agreement with Buffy Perry and Sukie Perry to serve as Heflen Park hosts (term Mar. 5–Nov. 8, 2026; cost $10,153, payable in five installments); a contract with Tabitha Fish for 2026 management of Dunn Stadium (Mar. 5–Dec. 31, 2026; cost $7,007, payable in five installments); annual inspector agreements for Dennis Pierce and Tabitha Fish ($1,750 per person per year, auto-renewing); and a lease for Dunn Stadium concessions with rent at 15% of gross receipts. Commissioners approved all agreements unanimously.
Lake maintenance and facilities: The commission approved renewal with Aquatic Control, Inc. for lake maintenance at Heflen Park (April–September 2026) at $2,480, and approved an annual Preventative Maintenance Agreement with Tower Clock Company for courthouse clock maintenance at $900 per year to be paid from Maintenance Department funds.
All motions to approve these agreements were seconded and passed unanimously at the meeting. Departments will proceed with implementation under the approved terms.
