Liquor licensing authority approves three special-event permits, including amended time for Wool Growers event

Hearing Officer Jill Cenamo reviewed and approved three special-event permit applications at the Grand Junction Liquor Licensing Authority meeting on Feb. 18, 2026.

Elks Lodge Grand Junction #575 was granted a permit for a "Blues Concert 2026" at 249 S. 4th Street on March 7, 2026, from 7:00–9:00 p.m.; event manager Jeremy Scheetz was present to answer questions about the location, security and lawful conduct. The same Elks Lodge was granted a permit for a "Sanchez Wedding Reception 2026" at the same address on March 21, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.; event manager Lisa Seeley answered staff questions and the record shows Exhibits A and B were entered.

The Loyal Order of Moose Grand Junction #270 received approval to host the "Mesa County Wool Growers Annual Event — 2026" at 567 25 ½ Road on Feb. 28, 2026, with a time amendment changing the event start from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Event manager Cathy Abercrombie explained the need for the amended start time and confirmed other event details matched the prior approval. Hearing Officer Cenamo verified each application with Deputy City Clerk Misty Williams, found no grounds to deny under Colorado statute 44-05-106, and entered Exhibits "A" and "B" into the record where noted.

The minutes record that there were no members of the public present to speak against any of these permit applications. The meeting record includes a statement that the Elks Lodge "Blues Concert 2026" and "Sanchez Wedding Reception 2026" were approved, and that the request to amend the time for the Loyal Order of Moose event was approved. The meeting adjourned at 2:45 p.m.
