The Colbert County Schools Board unanimously approved a slate of personnel actions at its March 19 meeting. Superintendent Nathan Fuller presented resignations and retirements including Logan Pollard (Cherokee Elementary, Physical Education Teacher), Callie Clay (New Bethel Elementary, School Nurse, retiring effective June 1, 2026), Troy Bradley Coan (Colbert Heights Elementary, Interventionist, retiring June 1, 2026) and Vickie Osborn (Leighton Elementary Principal, retiring July 1, 2026). The board also approved voluntary transfer of William McAnalley (from Maintenance Helper to Maintenance Lead Man/HVAC Technician, pending certification), long-term substitute assignments, contract employment for alternative school support, and multiple leaves of absence with stated effective dates.
The board declared several items surplus, citing nonoperational cleaning equipment at Colbert Heights schools and listing multiple buses to be surplussed for sale, bid or disposal. The buses were identified by make, model and vehicle identification numbers in the agenda.
In other business, the board approved a motion by Jackie (Jacqueline) Witt to change the April 16, 2026 regular meeting time to 4:30 p.m. and to move the June 18, 2026 meeting to June 11, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. The meeting was adjourned at 5:26 p.m. after a motion by Thomas Burgess.
