Staff summarized the committee’s role overseeing the expenditure of $34,200,000 in bond proceeds approved by voters in 2018 and told the board that performance and financial audits are complete and the committee has fulfilled its statutory purpose. “It is therefore recommended that the governing board formally vote to terminate and dissolve the committee effectively immediately,” staff stated.
Trustee Bruno moved to terminate and dissolve the committee; the motion was seconded and approved on a roll call vote with all five members recorded as voting in favor.
The board publicly thanked committee volunteers and presented certificates to members who were present, and district leaders expressed appreciation for their service.
The dissolution closes the district’s active citizen oversight for the Measure B bond program; staff indicated no further oversight steps related to that bond authorization were required at this time.
