The Waxahachie City Council voted to approve voluntary annexation of roughly 206.72 acres west of Interstate 35 at Brookside Road, a parcel tied to the Minto master‑planned development.
Planning staff told council the acreage is associated with Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services (Walton abstract number 10) and will be subject to the same development regulations and the existing planned‑development agreement for the Minto tract. Staff and council confirmed the annexation will not change the previously approved allotment of homes for the project.
A council member moved to approve the annexation and authorize the city manager to execute the annexation service agreement; the motion was seconded and adopted by voice vote.
