Curriculum staff presented Benchmark 2 results showing increases across elementary, middle and high school performance measures compared with earlier checkpoints and last year’s final results. Elementary coordinator Patty Delgado highlighted improvements in fourth- and fifth-grade reading and increases in students earning industry certifications; middle- and high-school presenters reported growth in algebra, biology and ELA measures.
Separately, the board approved administration’s recommendation to renew the Texas Curriculum Management Program Cooperative (TCMPC) subscription at roughly $137,741 annually to provide TEKS-aligned resources, Spanish-language curriculum materials and professional development supports. Trustees questioned usage monitoring for focus campuses and were told the district’s executive officers and instructional technology team track usage and support implementation at campuses that need additional assistance.
Trustees and administrators emphasized that the P TECH designation builds on existing PSJA academies and dual-credit partnerships, and that the district intends to use the curriculum tools and targeted interventions shown in the Benchmark presentation to support students through STAR testing and the forthcoming STAR refresh.
