Public works staffer Matt Leppler said completed thoroughfares include Adams Drive, Foster Lane, Hilltop Drive and East Bankhead. The presentation also showed residential work in the Benninger (the transcript and slides also spell this name "Bedinger") subdivision and work on Grama Drive and Grant Drive. Leppler said the program completed more than 77,000 square yards of resurfacing; staff noted the original estimate was about $1.9 million and the project’s final reported cost was about $1.4 million.
Leppler said the in‑house residential street effort complements ongoing maintenance and that a planned utility project on Allen Street up to Route 180 prevented completion of some Bankhead work this year; that section will be resurfaced after the utilities work is finished. Council members noted this is the third consecutive year the council directed an additional $1 million to thoroughfares through the budget process, and staff said this has been done without increasing the tax rate.
