The commission approved RZ191120, allowing a 6.21‑acre parcel owned by Daniel and Carolyn Childers to be rezoned from agricultural to rural residential so the owners can create one additional buildable lot.
Staff presented its standard eight‑question analysis, noting the parcel is bordered by rural residential zoning to the east and west and that the change would align the parcel with existing development patterns. Staff said the rezoning would correct a nonconforming status and would produce minimal demand on public facilities.
Carolyn (speaker 12) said she seeks a second building lot "in the back" of her property to build a single‑family home. "We just need a second building lot," she said. Commissioners asked brief clarifying questions; a motion to approve was made and seconded, the chair called the vote, and the motion carried.
The rezoning was recorded as approved in the meeting minutes and the matter will be forwarded as part of the planning record.
