Hudson Oaks updates Weatherford on Willow Park wastewater plant and force‑main schedule

Sterling Naren, city administrator for Hudson Oaks, gave a semi‑annual update on three interrelated projects that will make Hudson Oaks a wholesale wastewater customer of the Willow Park treatment facility. "Primarily, it's basically 3 projects that we have going on simultaneously to ultimately get the partnership with Willow Park in place," Naren told the board.
Naren said the Willow Park Wastewater Treatment Plant will have a 1,000,000‑gallon‑per‑day capacity, with Willow Park holding a 75% equity stake and Hudson Oaks 25%. Construction of the Willow Park facility is under way through Willow Park, while Hudson Oaks is building a South Fork lift station and a force main that will intercept flows before they travel north under the interstate toward Weatherford.
He described permitting and easements as complete for the Hudson Oaks elements and identified contractors: JRM (lift station), FM Utilities (force main) and Greycon (treatment facility construction). "So we have everything in place as far as permitting. All plats and easements are in place," Naren said, adding that the force main has about 83 calendar days to substantial completion on its timeline and that Weatherford's wholesale contract runs through October 2026.
Board members asked questions about staging and pipe sizing; Naren said the work includes upsizing lines between Harbinger Hill and Franklin and staging pump upgrades to meet future land‑use plans. He also noted a small electrical clearance lift is still required for a power line and that weather remains a scheduling risk.
Naren said the parties expect the Willow Park facility to be operational by midsummer and that, if schedules hold, the Hudson Oaks tie‑in will occur before Weatherford's contract expires.
