Village staff presented case number 25‑02 for Brock’s Backyard, a proposed barbecue restaurant, sports bar and entertainment establishment at 453 Main Street Unit A. The director said the interior space is about 4,800 square feet and the proposed outdoor patio is approximately 1,200 square feet. The application included a shared‑parking agreement signed by the property owner, Troy Sade, to allow patrons to park on adjacent parcels when needed.
Staff told trustees that the Planning & Zoning Board reviewed the special‑use request and site plan, considered parking, lighting and outdoor seating elevations, and voted 6–0 on July 2 to recommend approval. Staff noted the lighting fixtures will be attached to the building (no new pole lighting proposed) and that the outdoor seating area will be enclosed with fencing to separate patrons from vehicle circulation.
Trustees asked questions about keeping the business consistent with the concept presented to the board and whether enforcement measures exist to ensure the establishment adheres to the approved design and operations. One trustee expressed support for the project while noting concerns about circulation and operation on busy nights. After discussion, the board agreed to place the item on the July 23 agenda for a final vote.
What happens next: The board will take final action on the special‑use permit and site plan on July 23. If approved, the applicant must meet conditions in the site plan and adhere to any required shared‑parking and enclosure specifications.
