North Haledon swears in Class II special police officer Tarron Douglas

The North Haledon borough council on Sept. 20 appointed Tarron Douglas as a Class II special police officer. Police Chief Todd Darby introduced Douglas, noted a completed background check and said Douglas will begin law enforcement training at the Passaic County Police Academy on Oct. 12.
Chief Darby told the council that Douglas has been employed by the borough as a dispatcher since July 2022 and that the VNA of Englewood provided a letter praising Douglas’s work. Council Member Rocco Luisi moved and Council Member Bruce O. Iacobelli seconded a motion to deviate from the agenda to allow the appointment; Councilwoman Donna Puglisi administered the oath of office. The minutes state that all members present voted in the affirmative on the deviation and the subsequent appointment.
The appointment was also listed on the meeting’s consent agenda. No additional disciplinary or personnel details were recorded in the work session minutes.
