West Chicago committee approves multiple maintenance and service contracts

The motion, introduced by Alderman Dimas, bundled contracts and resolutions including a vehicle purchase (a Ford F-250 from Haggerty Ford), a janitorial contract extension with Crystal Maintenance Plus for up to $71,520, a cemetery sexton services contract with Cemetery Management Inc. not to exceed $62,700 for fiscal year 2026, a forestry maintenance contract extension with Steve Piper and Sons for up to $125,000, an amendment for Gaywalt Hamilton Associates (a $10,000 amendment bringing the revised contract to $114,150) for traffic signal design, and authorization to use state motor fuel tax funds for the city’s 2026 maintenance programs. The motion also included a professional architectural design and construction management services contract for museum renovations (listed as Uber Inc., $80,400) and a 2026 right-of-way maintenance contract extension with Adlon Landscaping Inc. (up to $266,158.61).
A roll call recorded affirmative votes from the committee and the chair declared the motion passed. The committee did not receive public comment on these items.
The approvals were procedural and advance routine maintenance and design work across multiple departments; staff did not report any objections during the meeting. The committee will incorporate these contracts into the city’s 2026 operating and capital schedule as appropriate.
