Consultant White and Company presents development and stormwater assessment to Willow Springs board

White and Company representatives presented an assessment proposal to the Willow Springs Village Board on June 20, describing services aimed at development planning and stormwater management and proposing community workshops to inform local priorities.

The President introduced the consultants and said the firm previously met with village officials in April; White and Company outlined services "that might be helpful and advantageous to the village and the residents in terms of development ideas and then also, some ideas about stormwater management," the President said. Trustees asked how the consultant would help the village access funding for projects and whether feasibility work would show if a property is suitable for development.

Trustees pressed on practical details: one trustee asked about drainage and how the firm would "access money" to get projects done; another asked whether a firm-led economic vision would determine whether a site is buildable or if "the water's a good problem" would make development infeasible. Consultants described preparing plans so the village would not have to "work backwards" when pursuing projects and discussed a workshop-format engagement and a community-driven component.

No formal action followed the presentation. Board members thanked the consultants; trustees indicated they appreciated the workshop approach and the idea of producing plans that would support future budget or grant applications. The board requested no vote or contract at this meeting and moved on to other agenda items.
