Communications board approves Alpha Prime quotes for Mainwood Fire equipment and call box

The Ike 911 Communications Center on Sept. 17 approved two vendor quotes from Alpha Prime to upgrade communications equipment for Mainwood Fire and to repair the emergency call box outside Fire Station 1.

The chair asked the board to consider two separate quotes and requested motions. "So I would need a motion and a second to approve this quote from Alpha Prime for the amount of $7,673.35," the chair said, introducing the first item for Mainwood Fire communications equipment. A motion and second were recorded and the board approved the item by roll call, with the chair announcing the vote as unanimous.

The second quote covered restoration and replacement work on an emergency call box at Fire Station 1. A fire chief who explained the item described the call box function: "They can press the button on there and it'll come straight to the [911] dispatch center." The transcript lists two different amounts for that second quote: the item is introduced as $2,062 (no cents) and, later in the roll call announcement, the amount appears as $2,000.62. The board approved that quote by roll call as well.

Both votes were recorded as 5–0 in favor.
