CCRPC PAC hears updates on Burlington development, Act 250 and regional planning outreach

PAC members on June 9 received brief regional updates on development, Act 250 tracking and upcoming public engagement opportunities.
Meagan Tuttle updated the group on a proposed 9- to 10-story building next to People’s Bank on Pine Street in Burlington. Tuttle said the project took advantage of reduced parking requirements and that the presence of inclusionary housing units might keep the project from going to Act 250. She also reported that the city’s proposed short-term rental regulations will move to the Burlington City Council after the council completes its budget process.
Regina Mahony asked PAC members to email any Act 250 or Section 248 updates so CCRPC can track regional applications. She also described CCRPC’s work with three neighboring regions on a combined Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (currently called the West Central Vermont CEDS) and invited members to a public engagement event on June 17. Staff noted a Chittenden County input meeting for the State Comprehensive Energy Plan scheduled for June 28 from 6 to 8 p.m.
