CCRPC Planning Advisory Committee approves minutes, discusses accessibility and regional initiatives

At the May 12 meeting Paul Conner called the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission Planning Advisory Committee to order at 2:36 p.m. Ravi Venkataraman moved to approve the March 10, 2021 minutes; Darren Schibler seconded and the motion passed with no further discussion.
During the members open forum, participants raised requests for greater accessibility to virtual meetings including closed captioning and post-meeting recordings. Members noted Zoom and WebEx captioning features, Town Meeting TV hosting via YouTube, and prospective hybrid meeting setups with equipment costs in the roughly $2,000 nd $2,500 range. Paul Conner asked members to email Regina Mahony and Taylor Newton with any Act 250 or Section 248 project updates from their communities.
Staff announced 2021 VPA Planning Award winners for Chittenden County (Meagan Tuttle and Dean Pierce), described a regional Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) collaboration with other Vermont regions and a public engagement meeting scheduled for June 17, and noted the release of the 2020 ECOS Annual Report. The meeting adjourned at 4:01 p.m.
