Champlain College and UVM candidates express interest in TAC Environmental Community seat

Bryan Davis told the Transportation Advisory Committee on May 7 that the TAC Environmental Community seat is vacant and that staff had reached out to prospective candidates. Two guests introduced themselves to the committee and described relevant backgrounds.
Holly Francis, Champlain College’s sustainability coordinator, said she would bring perspectives from a recent-college graduate and a year-round/winter bike commuter; she described involvement with Champlain’s greenhouse gas inventory and emphasized accessibility, affordability and connections in transportation. "It went well and was empowering," Francis said, describing her winter biking experience.
Kris Stepenuck introduced herself as an Extension Associate Professor and Associate Director and Extension Program Leader with Lake Champlain Sea Grant. She said her work focuses on water quality, workforce development and outreach on road salt reduction; she described assisting communities on shared brine systems and noted she is also a year-round/winter bike commuter.
Process note: Bryan Davis said the TAC can recommend candidates to the CCRPC Board, and the Board Chair makes appointments consistent with the CCRPC bylaws.
