After returning from executive session, the Weatherford City Council authorized the city manager or designee to purchase public-safety dispatch radio consoles, system hardware and integration services from Motorola not to exceed $479,000 through an interlocal agreement with Parker County Emergency Service District No. 1.
A council member moved to authorize the procurement, and the motion, seconded by another member, carried by vote. The authorization directs procurement up to the stated budget cap and uses an interlocal agreement as the purchasing vehicle.
The council's action followed the executive-session discussion the council identified on the agenda as deliberation regarding security devices and radio communication equipment. City staff and council indicated the purchase is intended to update dispatch-console hardware and integration to meet operational needs.
