Forest Park council approves bills, equipment sale, tax estimate and grant application

Forest Park, Ill. — The Village Council on Nov. 24 approved a series of routine financial and administrative measures during a largely unanimous session.
The clerk presented an omnibus bills resolution listing department aggregates (including Police, Public Works, Water and others) with a total reported amount of $1,796,716.49; the council adopted that resolution (Resolution 119-25) with recorded ayes from all members present.
Council also approved an ordinance authorizing sale or disposition of surplus property — specifically one fire truck and one ambulance (Ordinance 50-25) — and unanimously approved a resolution determining the estimated property tax to be levied for the 2025 tax year (Resolution 120-25).
The council approved Pay Request No. 1 for the 2025 lead service replacement Stage 2 to 5 Star Energy Services (Resolution 122-25) and authorized submission of an application for a small-business grant from the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal (Resolution 123-25). Motions for each item were moved and seconded by council members and passed without recorded opposition.
During public comment, a Forest Park PTO representative asked for volunteer help selling concessions at Forest Park Middle School boys basketball games and promoted a dine-and-donate event on Monday, Dec. 8, noting volunteers can contact pto@fpsd91.org for details.
All votes recorded during the meeting were unanimous "ayes" from the attending members. The meeting concluded with routine administrator and commissioner reports and an adjournment.
