The Woodland Park Planning Commission on April 23 voted to continue two subdivision items to its May 14 meeting after commissioners determined they did not have the five members required for a quorum.
Planning Director Karen told the commission, “we do not have a quorum of commission members,” noting that four members were present and one member was absent. As a result, a commission member moved to continue the Challenger Corner Subdivision preliminary and final plat public hearing to May 14; Chair Brown seconded the motion and the four commissioners present voted yes, carrying the motion. The commission used the same process to continue the Pines at Stoneridge PUD preliminary plat extension; that motion also passed on a 4-0 vote.
The commission recorded yes votes from Commissioners Ken Hartsfield, Don Hoying, Chair Brown and Vice Chair Ken Kennedy. Commissioner Jared Newcomb was listed as absent for the meeting. Staff said the corresponding City Council hearing for the Challenger Corner item is now scheduled for June 4 and that the updated agendas will be published in the local newspaper.
During the short meeting, Senior Planner CJ Gates announced a resignation, saying it would be their last Planning Commission meeting and that their final day with the city will be May 8. Chair Brown and other commissioners offered brief well-wishes.
Staff noted an additional small replat correction for the Haven at Paradise subdivision that will appear on the May 14 agenda alongside the two continued items. With no other business, the commission adjourned at about 6:35 p.m.
