Operational IKE Board approves Mercury Systems PSAP change order and SMS license renewal

At the meeting, the board approved item a, a Mercury Systems quote for $10,007.79 described by Chief Mills as "a change order to convert the PSAP" that includes updates and a new firewall/router for the ESI NET. The motion to approve was recorded as moved by Chief Mills and seconded by Chief Ronal; a roll call recorded four yes votes, with Mayor Thompson absent.
The board also approved item b, a separate Mercury Systems quote of $2,399.04 for a new SMS/IP SMS text-record license renewal. Chief Mills said the license allows call takers to receive and read text messages routed to the I-911 center; the renewal motion (moved by Maywood Fire and seconded by Chief Mills of Broadview PD) passed by roll call 4-0.
Board members asked no substantive follow-up questions during discussion on either item. The approvals keep planned PSAP updates on schedule and maintain the center's ability to accept text-based 9-1-1 messages.
The meeting then moved on to the director's report.
