Council members asked whether including fire and public-works vehicles would improve pricing; a council member (speaker 2) noted that aggregating departments could make the program more attractive to a vendor. Chief Gross (speaker 3), who participated in vendor meetings, confirmed the vendor requested more detail on the village’s needs before expanding beyond police vehicles.
The council said staff should return with a cost analysis after Enterprise’s next presentation. If the police-only proposal is affordable, the village may negotiate a systemwide approach over time.
