Katie from Parks and Recreation updated the board on holiday programming and gave a detailed schedule for the Centennial Park project. She said Hitchcock Design is preparing construction documents, permitting is scheduled for January–February, the village plans to go out to bid about Feb. 25, award the contract at the March 25 board meeting, and break ground in early April.
Katie reviewed several holiday events (Santa at the sawmill, festival of trees, breakfast with Santa) and said most programs remain popular. She also announced the promotion of Grace Ford from administrative assistant to recreation supervisor; Ford will oversee in-house and contractual program development, summer day camp and facility scheduling.
Board members had no additional questions; the parks report concluded with an invitation to residents to view parade photos posted online and to participate in upcoming events.
