La Grange trustees approve engineering services to boost federal bid for Burlington Avenue resurfacing

La Grange's Board of Trustees unanimously approved a resolution authorizing engineering and environmental services to advance a Burlington Avenue resurfacing project toward federal Surface Transportation Program (STP) funding.

Trustee McGee presented the proposal, saying the STP scoring process favors project readiness and that the village engaged Baxter & Woodman to prepare design plans, specifications and bid documents to improve the project's competitiveness for federal aid. He said the STP program typically funds projects at an 80% federal share with a 20% local match and that funds for the work were included in the village's FY2025–26 capital budget.

The task order covers preliminary engineering and environmental studies and development of design documents; staff told the board that preliminary engineering work is expected to be completed by January 2028. The resolution passed by roll call vote with all trustees recorded as voting in favor.
