The Committee of the Whole in Macomb on Nov. 10 heard a request for an ordinance to authorize a Class D liquor license for 309 Marketplace LLC at 129 North Randolph Street. The item had its first reading on Nov. 3 and was presented to the committee for discussion and public comment.
The petitioner, identified during roll call as Alderman Hsu, said they counted attendees during the store's recent grand opening and recorded a final door count of "1,024," calling the opening a "really good grand opening event." The petitioner said the license would allow the business to host additional events at the store to "supplement what we're already doing."
Chair said there were no further questions from the committee. With no objections, the chair announced the matter will be placed on the city council agenda for second reading and final action on Nov. 17, 2025.
No formal vote or council action on the ordinance occurred at the committee meeting; the council will take the next procedural step on the date announced.
