District safety official warns trustees about rise in statewide 'swatting' incidents

"If you’re not familiar with what swatting is, it's where someone fakes an emergency call ... and emergency personnel have to respond accordingly," Mister Gore said. He told trustees his office had not recorded local swatting incidents but that neighboring districts had and that law enforcement continues to investigate those cases.
Trustees asked whether the district had experienced incidents; Mister Gore said not yet and described coordination with law enforcement and staff training. The board had no immediate vote or action tied to the briefing; trustees thanked him for the report and emphasized continuing vigilance.
