Summary
The EDIC approved a property-tax incentive for NewJaxa Software to expand into the 14th floor of the Radisson Building, moving from ~2,800 to 7,500 sq ft, pledging to bring remote employees to Fargo and to add staff over the next five years; recorded roll call was unanimous.
The Economic Development Incentive Committee approved a property-tax incentive for NewJaxa Software to expand its downtown Fargo footprint and relocate employees to the city.
Jamie Evenson, founder of NewJaxa Software, told the committee the company started in Nevada and has grown to 11 employees in Fargo as of 2026. Evenson said the firm intends to move from roughly 2,800 square feet to about 7,500 square feet on the 14th floor of the Radisson Building, and plans to add roughly two full-time equivalent positions per year over the next five years while relocating some remote employees to Fargo. An EDIC staff analysis cited average salaries above $81,000 for the positions listed in the application.
An EDIC staff representative introduced the request and said the company’s proposal scored 178 in the committee’s incentive evaluation, a score the committee described as high. Committee members asked about the company’s product and hiring sources; Evenson said NewJaxa builds a "middle office" staffing software (time capture, payroll/billing conversion and related functions) and has been hiring graduates from Concordia and North Dakota State University.
Evenson said the company is enforcing a back-to-office policy for developers: "We are mandating that all of our developers be in Fargo." The committee described downtown location and high-paying jobs as positive factors in its review.
A motion to approve the property-tax incentive was moved and seconded and carried on a recorded roll call. Committee members thanked the presenters and adjourned the meeting.
