Maple Valley ' At the Sept. 22 City Council meeting City Manager Laura Philpot reported a successful State Auditor's Office (SAO) exit conference, announced an Emergency Preparedness Fair at the Farmers Market and listed upcoming Association of Washington Cities (AWC) meetings she attended.
Philpot said council staff reviewed and updated the FACT sheet, removing completed items. Mayor Sean P. Kelly mentioned an uptick in copper thefts and asked that the topic be scheduled for future discussion so the council can consider possible responses.
Council members praised the finance department for securing a clean audit. Mayor Kelly also asked council members for ideas for a potential visit by Congresswoman Kim Schrier and suggested holding a volunteer recognition dinner.
