Resident urges council to align rooster ban with King County; council votes to revisit ordinance

Councilmember Victoria Schroff asked that Ordinance No. O-25-852 (adding Chapter 6.10 prohibiting roosters within city limits) be returned to a future meeting for further discussion and potential updates. The council voted 5-1 in favor of returning the item; Councilmember Syd Dawson was recorded as the dissenting vote.
During the public-comment period after the vote, Locatelli thanked the council and said she felt heard. The ordinance remains in effect until council action; returning the item means the council will place it on a future agenda for additional deliberation.
