The Village of La Grange Board of Trustees unanimously approved an ordinance on Feb. 9 prohibiting the use of village-owned property — excluding public rights-of-way — for civil immigration enforcement operations such as staging, detention or processing.
The ordinance, drafted with input from the village manager, village attorney and police chief, was introduced by President Kuchler and approved after a roll call vote in which all trustees present voted aye. Trustee Gail moved for approval.
