City Attorney Lisa presented the items and said the council determined acquiring the property located in the southwest quarter of Section 1 is "necessary and appropriate for the benefit of the city." She said the city negotiated terms with Cox Electric Inc. for one parcel and with the Elizabeth Ann Rapp Trust for the other, and that funds would be appropriated from the city's water fund to complete the purchases. "If adopted, the resolution provides the council does approve the purchase agreement and substantially the form presented," Lisa said.
Council voted on each resolution separately; both were approved by roll call with all members voting aye. Staff noted the city already owns a third of the needed sites.
Each purchase resolution authorizes the mayor and clerk to execute the purchase agreement and directs appropriation from the water fund. The council did not discuss purchase prices in the meeting record; those figures were not specified during the public discussion.
