Washington council unanimously approves employment contract for city administrator Jeff Faganshoo

The Washington City Council unanimously approved an employment agreement on Dec. 15 to hire Jeff Faganshoo as the city’s next city administrator.

Council members praised what they described as an extensive selection process. Alderson McIntyre said the council reviewed several applicants and conducted a deliberative search, calling Faganshoo “a great candidate for the city” and saying the council expects him to bring steady leadership. Alderson Moss said staff, the consultant and the attorney put substantial time into the search and that the candidate “checks a lot of boxes.” The mayor asked that a statement praising the candidate be included in the minutes and noted that the full compensation package and salary range are posted on the city’s website.

City Administrator Dennis Carr presented the resolution establishing the employment agreement. No public opposition or questions were raised during the discussion; the motion passed on a unanimous vote.

The council included a formal statement in the minutes describing Faganshoo’s background in organizational leadership and fiscal stewardship. The transcript did not specify a start date for the new administrator.
