Votes at a glance: Warrenville Community Development Committee recommendations (Nov. 10, 2025)

At its Nov. 10 meeting the Warrenville Community Development Committee of the Whole recommended the following actions to the full city council or approved items by committee motion and voice vote:

- Country Ridge water tower riser replacement: Recommended awarding a $149,500 contract to Maguire Iron for replacement of the 10-inch riser/column pipe (motion carried on voice vote). (See Item 1.)

- Short-term rental ordinance: Recommended approving an ordinance to establish definitions, registration and licensing, annual life-safety inspections, a cap of two licensed units per applicant, a limit of one STR per zoning lot, and taxation of STRs as hotels; the committee approved a one-night minimum stay and forwarded the ordinance to council. (See Item 2.)

- 2026 annual fee ordinance: Recommended approval of a consolidated annual fee schedule, adding several new fees (including a placeholder for an STR license fee if the ordinance is adopted). (See Item 3.)

- Property tax appeal intervention resolution: Recommended updating the 2011 resolution to authorize the current law firm (Elrod Friedman) to intervene in property-tax appeals where a reduction of $100,000 or more is sought. (See Item 4.)

- Public-art mural code amendment: Recommended changes to define public-art murals, list allowed zones, set materials/maintenance standards, and establish the Tourism & Arts Commission review with final council approval. (See Item 5.)

- VFW Post 8081 sponsorship: Recommended a $500 sponsorship to install a concrete base for a donated headstone for World War I veteran Henry Joseph Titterman. (See Item 6.)
