Staff said the village has issued an RFP for a planning consultant who will assist with the larger comprehensive-plan update and also prepare the CNH subarea plan to ensure cohesive guidance for future development. The subarea plan will analyze traffic impacts, appropriate land uses, transitions between uses and other site-specific details and will be reviewed by the plan commission and the board with opportunities for public comment.
Staff also said CNH (the property owner) has expressed support for the approach, and trustees voted to prioritize the subarea plan so public input and developer outreach can proceed with clearer parameters. The motion passed 5–0.
