The Washington City Council unanimously approved a second reading on Jan. 5 to amend the city code and council rules of procedure to update the remote-attendance policy for council meetings.
By title, the amendment codifies procedures for remote participation. Alderson Smith moved for approval, and Alderson McIntyre seconded; the council voted unanimously to adopt the amendment on second reading.
Earlier in the meeting the council also passed the consent agenda (approval of Dec. 15, 2025 minutes and acceptance of monthly reports for October and November 2025) by unanimous vote.
