Public-health staff overhaul fee schedules for food, nursing and community services; committee forwards changes to county board

Christine Miller, introduced as the field staff supervisor for the food program in environmental health, presented a restructured fee schedule intended to simplify food-safety permitting and reduce administrative confusion. Miller said staff averaged previous tiered fees into three risk categories (risk 1–3) and removed square-footage calculations for plan-review fees to make the schedule easier for applicants to understand. "We just took an average of those tiers and that's what the new fee is," Miller told the committee.
