Staff presented a proposed 2026 budget of $12,959,892 and said the proposed levy would be $5,000,583.475, representing a preliminary increase the council described as 4.5%. The Chair noted that the levy can be decreased but not increased at final adoption.
Council adopted the resolution approving the proposed levy (the Chair read the resolution identifier as “resolution 2025‑dash” during the meeting) and scheduled the Truth in Taxation public meeting for Monday, December 1 at 6 p.m., with a continuation at the regular council meeting on December 9 if needed. The Chair thanked finance staff for preparing the materials and asked council members to review the budget books.
