Board delays K–5 math curriculum adoption after parents request teacher feedback

Maggie, who presented the review, said the team piloted curricula, collected data with a standardized rubric, and reached consensus to adapt Bridges: "We came to consensus that we would adapt Bridges 3, third edition," she said.
Board member Kristen asked for one week to gather direct teacher feedback from those who piloted the materials and moved to table the adoption until next Monday; the motion to table was seconded and approved by roll call. Administration said materials and a public link to pilot-teacher lists will be provided so board members can contact teachers directly. Tabling preserves the ability to order materials before the end of the school year while allowing the board time for additional comments from involved teachers.
The item will return for possible action at the next meeting.
