At its Jan. 9 meeting the Willow Springs Village Board approved several routine operational items, including a new business license, vehicle purchases and the annual zoning‑map update.
Business license: The board approved a business license for Urban Grooming doing business as Timeless Grooming at 8695 Archer, Suite 25. The applicant said he took over most operations in March 2022 and acknowledged the need to keep licensing current; trustees cautioned that operating without a properly updated license could have led to fines, and the license was approved by roll‑call vote (all ayes).
Vehicle purchases: Trustees approved the purchase of a 2025 Ford F‑350 for public works from Westfield Ford not to exceed $49,500; the truck replaces a 2012 F‑350 and will be upfitted, with expected delivery in spring. The board also approved three 2025 Ford Interceptors from Westfield Ford not to exceed $138,000 total (about $46,000 each) to replace and upfit police squads; trustees said the capital budget covers the purchases and the purchases passed by unanimous roll call.
Zoning map: The board adopted Ordinance 2025‑O‑01 adopting the official 2025 zoning map as a routine housekeeping measure; the motion carried on a unanimous roll‑call vote.
Why it matters: The approvals cover daily municipal operations (business licensing, fleet renewal, and land‑use housekeeping) and reflect budgeted capital spending the board said was already planned.
