Trustees described the IGA as a detailed, 23‑page agreement that requires long‑term maintenance: "It re also has requirements for us for maintenance for at least 25 years," one trustee said during discussion. Board members and staff said the village will use roughly $1,000,000 in MWRD grant funds to carry out the work and expects to put the project out to bid in January with a February bid opening and construction beginning in spring; officials said the work should be completed before the village's July fests.
Administrator Gehrges said the engineer submitted final plans and that MWRD returned only minor comments on the 100% submittal; he said bricks currently in the village center will be taken up, saved and re‑installed in front of village hall as part of a brick program.
