Summary
The commission accepted an application from National Land Holdings LLC seeking amendments to the 2018 POCD addendum and a zone change to Midpoint Development District for properties at 1179 Farmington Avenue and 2–3 Bridgewater Road, and set a public hearing for July 13, 2026; staff noted the amendment will be forwarded to town council and COG for a 65‑day review.
At its April 27 meeting the Town of Farmington Plan and Zoning Commission accepted an application from National Land Holdings LLC to amend section 9 of the 2018 Plan of Conservation and Development addendum and to change zoning for specified properties (article 2, section 32) to the Midpoint Development District. A commissioner moved to accept the application and to schedule a public hearing on July 13, 2026; the motion was seconded and the commission voted to accept the application and set the hearing.
Town planner Shannon Rutherford told the commission that, under Connecticut statutes, the amendment will be forwarded to the town council and the regional Council of Governments for a 65‑day review period; the applicant granted an extension to allow the hearing on July 13. Rutherford also noted the application requires review by the Architectural Design Review Committee (ADRC) in May and June so the commission expects an ADRC report before the July hearing.
The acceptance moves the item onto the public‑hearing calendar; staff will route materials to the town council and COG for comment during the statutory review period.
