The City of Doral City Council on April 8 approved Ordinance No. 202605, a fiscal-year 2025–26 budget amendment that shifts funds within the general fund and transfers $200,000 into the capital improvement fund.
Finance Director Soule told the council the amendment addresses unforeseen expenses and funds several immediate needs, including transfers from Parks Capital to IT Capital for emergency purchases — citywide access-control repairs, server replacements and license-plate-reader replacements — and a transfer to the capital improvement fund to pay for first- and second-floor flooring renovations at City Hall. "The changes to the fiscal year 2025–26 general fund budget have a zero net effect to expenditures," Soule said, and noted Exhibit A provides a detailed line-item summary.
Councilwoman Nicole Reynoso moved to approve the amendment and Councilman (identified in the record as) Pinero seconded. The clerk called the roll and recorded votes that resulted in the motion passing. (The meeting transcript contains inconsistent roll-call entries for one council member; the clerk announced the motion passed.)
The amendment authorizes the finance department to transfer the listed amounts; staff said they will implement the purchases and report back as required by city procedures.
