Planning commission approves three vacation‑rental conditional‑use permits; one member abstains

The Orderville Town Planning and Zoning Commission approved three conditional-use permits (CUPs) on March 25 authorizing use of private homes as vacation rentals.
Angie Cox represented owner Marlene Cohen in a CUP application for 1750 South State Street; the commission received confirmation that the Utah Department of Transportation had approved the property’s existing access point for that use. Alex Pavlides moved to approve the CUP; Tony Collins seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
A second CUP for 390 West Prickly Pear Circle, an existing vacation rental undergoing an ownership change, was approved on a unanimous vote after Tony Collins moved to approve and Letitia Cox seconded.
The commission also approved a CUP for 1045 South Pinyon Pine Drive (Weebach / Samcubis). That motion passed 4–0 with Vice Chair Alex Pavlides recorded as abstaining because of a potential management connection to the property; ayes were Tony Collins, Letitia Cox, Riley Anderson and Chair Ed Bolander.
All three approvals were recommendations to the Town Council as required by local procedure. No public testimony opposed these permits during the meeting.
