RTS representatives told the MTPO they are preparing to transition ADA/paratransit scheduling inside the RTS service area to a new platform called RTS Plus beginning March 1. The system will offer an app (Android and iOS) and phone‑based booking; riders will be able to schedule trips and see vehicle ETAs through the app.
"We're ready for March 1 to take the ADA service," an RTS representative said, adding that drivers and staff have been trained and that riders will be able to schedule trips in mid‑February for March service. RTS said the ADA fare remains the same, and that outreach will include mailed materials, workshops with the Center for Independent Living, coordination with dialysis centers, senior centers and hospitals, and direct contact to an existing list of eligible clients.
RTS staff said non‑app booking will still be available by phone for riders who need assistance. The board encouraged robust, multi‑channel outreach to make sure ADA‑eligible riders understand the app and phone options and to avoid service gaps during the transition.
